Filing a complaint with a government agency is a separate thing, and it does not start a lawsuit. How pages are written and checked
- Primary sources first. Every dollar amount, deadline, and rule is tied to the statute (47 U.S.C. 227), the FCC’s regulations (47 C.F.R. 64.1200), a court opinion, an agency page, or a settlement administrator’s own website. Each page lists its sources.
- If we cannot verify it, we leave it out. You will see gaps where a fact could not be confirmed. That is on purpose.
- We report the record, not opinions. When a page names a company, we describe what complaints, lawsuits, and regulators say, and link to them. We do not call a company a scam unless a court or regulator did.
- Dates matter. Each page shows when it was last checked. Settlement deadlines and FCC rules change, and court decisions such as the Supreme Court’s 2025 McLaughlin ruling can shift how the rules are read.
- Honest odds. Pages explain when a situation is probably not a case. A single call, calls you consented to, and callers no one can identify are common examples.
How the site is funded
